Celebrate Winter Fest Dec. 7

The final big event of the Cornell United Way campaign will take place Dec. 7, from 3 to 5 p.m. in the Willard Straight Hall Memorial Room.

All members of the Cornell community are invited to celebrate by enjoying refreshments served by Cornell Catering – hors d’oeuvres, desserts, beer, wine, cider and soft drinks – and a wide variety of entertainment. Last-minute attendees are welcome.

Apia Awa from Cornell Dining will be DJ. The Chordials will perform a capella; Rob Ervin from the Cornell Store will offer some good old rock and roll; and Meng-Wei Hsu from Cornell Dining will provide classical piano. A stand-up comedian and several other surprises also are planned.

Participants will have the opportunity to win prizes, including Beats headphones, an Apple watch, Window Surface, brunch for two at Taverna Banfi, a one-night stay at the Cornell Club of NYC, and gift baskets.

Cornell’s United Way campaign co-chairs Pat Wynn, executive director for Campus Life Enterprise Services, and Rick Burgess, vice president for Facilities and Campus Services, will provide an update on the campaign, currently at 50 percent of the goal of $750,000.
