Cornell Chronicle

I was hired by the Chronicle in 2015 to cover physical sciences and engineering. I now write about research in computing and information science; business and entrepreneurship; fiber science; communication; and the occasional Big Red sports story.

Before joining the Chronicle, I was a sports writer for nearly three decades, most of it at The Ithaca Journal, where I covered, among many other things, Cornell men’s and women’s hockey, football, baseball and lacrosse. I began my journalism career at the Syracuse Herald-Journal, then had a brief stint at the Auburn Citizen before moving to Ithaca in 1983.

I grew up in Liverpool, in suburban Syracuse, and graduated from Towson University in Baltimore with a degree in communication.
