Herbert Deinert, professor emeritus of German studies, died Aug. 4 at age 79. A friend and mentor to his students, he was a noted scholar of German literature and intellectual history.

The body of Khalil King '13 was recovered by police in Fall Creek Gorge Sunday, Aug. 29. He had been missing since early Saturday morning. Foul play is not suspected, and an investigation is ongoing. (Aug. 30, 2010)
