Pelosi to speak in NYC at ‘Inside Congress’ series
Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi will discuss the latest news, as well as priorities for the House Democratic Caucus, at the next “Inside Congress” event, sponsored by Cornell’s Institute of Politics and Global Affairs. The talk will be May 7, 10:15-11:30 a.m. at the Cornell Club New York City, 6 E. 44th St. Space is limited; attendance is RSVP only to Harrison Feuer. The event will be livestreamed to CornellCast.
“We are excited to continue the nonpartisan ‘Inside Congress’ series with Speaker Pelosi, a guest who is uniquely prominent in addressing our nation’s current challenges,” said Steve Israel, member of Congress from 2001-17 and director of Institute of Politics and Global Affairs. Israel will moderate the dialogue.
According to Israel, the goal of the series is “to take Cornell students, faculty, alumni and members of the public beyond the headlines and soundbites for an intimate look at some of the key voices shaping political debate.”
Upcoming speakers in the institute’s calendar of events include Republican Rep. Tom Cole of Oklahoma, ranking member of the House Rules Committee, and Reince Priebus, former chief of staff to President Donald Trump.
