Cornell statistics conference and celebration slated for Sept. 5

The Eighth Celebration of Statistics and Data Science – a day-long conference and celebration featuring talks from nine leaders in statistics, including five Cornell alumni – will take place 9 a.m., Friday, Sept. 5, in the J. Willard Marriott Executive Education Center in the Statler Hotel.

Hosted by the Department of Statistics and Data Science, the event is a dual conference and celebration of Cornell’s rich history in statistics, data science, and mathematics. Cornell scholars are invited to attend, though seats are limited and registration is required

As part of the celebration, Chris Jennison, Ph.D. ’82, a professor of statistics at the University of Bath, will receive the department’s annual Distinguished Alumni Award and give the keynote talk.
