A revised academic calendar anticipates Commencement ceremonies on back-to-back weekends next spring, including one for the Class of 2020, whose planned celebration this May was postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
In 13 homes across the country last week, ILR School seniors received letters they wrote to their future selves nearly four years ago as students in Associate Professor Adam Seth Litwin’s Freshman Colloquium cohort.
Culminating four years of rigorous military training, five Cornell seniors became officers in the U.S. Navy, and one in the U.S. Marine Corps, in virtual ceremonies May 22. Three more will take the oath May 29.
The Class of 2020 overcame unforeseen obstacles to complete their final semester, President Martha E. Pollack said in a video message to Cornell’s newest alumni May 23. “I am so very proud of each and every one of you.”
