Volunteers needed for Charter Day Weekend in April
More than 500 volunteer positions must be filled to help support Charter Day Weekend, Cornell’s Ithaca-based Sesquicentennial celebration. Volunteer positions are needed Wednesday, April 22, to Monday, April 27.
Opportunities range from distributing regalia to ushering at one of the “Cornell celebrity” panels to greeting guests or hosting entertainers at the Big Red Birthday Bash. Volunteers will receive a commemorative Charter Day Weekend shirt and, for each event at which they work, a Regal Cinemas movie ticket.
Visit the Charter Day Weekend website to register for one or more of the events and select your preference of volunteer opportunities. Be sure you can commit to the responsibilities listed on the website; employees are asked to talk with their supervisor if they want to volunteer during work hours. All volunteers are required to attend one of two training/orientation sessions in Uris Auditorium, either April 16, 3-4:15 p.m. or April 17, 10:30-11:45 a.m.
For more information about recording volunteer time or other payroll-related questions, visit the website.
