Deadline nears for endowed benefits open enrollment
Benefits open enrollment for endowed faculty and staff will end at 4 p.m., EST, Monday, Nov. 19, for coverage effective Jan. 1, 2019.
The annual open enrollment period is the only time endowed employees can enroll in or make changes to health and dental plan coverage (including adding or removing dependents) unless they experience a qualifying life event. It’s also the only time of year to enroll or re-enroll in an FSA for medical or dependent care. Legal insurance is also part of open enrollment but runs Nov. 1 through Dec. 31.
Enrolling is easier than ever. The improved endowed enrollment website uses five simple questions to consider and provides resources to help you plan, including a Decision/Enrollment Guide with worksheets and step-by-step instructions for completing your enrollment in Workday.
Contract college staff and faculty can make health plan changes and enroll in a flexible spending account (FSA) during a separate Option Transfer Period later in November, dates to be determined.
