Cornell offers fiduciary income tax workshop in East Syracuse, Batavia and Binghamton in August

An inservice tax workshop to review fiduciary income tax reporting and management will be held in East Syracuse, Batavia and Binghamton in mid-August. It is offered by Cornell University's Department of Agricultural, Resource and Managerial Economics.

This workshop is ideal for accountants, tax practitioners, consultants, attorneys and financial advisers. The topics include the mechanics of fiduciary law and accounting, an introduction to fiduciary taxation, income distribution deduction, the taxation of beneficiaries and the alternative minimum tax.

Robert E. Barnhill III, an attorney and certified public accountant, will teach the workshop. He has taught several business, estate and retirement classes, and he is an adjunct professor at Texas Tech University.

The workshop on Aug. 16 will be held at the Holiday Inn Carrier Circle in East Syracuse; the workshop on Aug. 17 will be held at the Holiday Inn in Batavia; and the workshop on Aug. 18 will be held at the Ramada Inn in Binghamton.

Advanced registration is required by July 28, and attendance is limited to the capacity of the meeting room at each location. The registration fee is $130 and includes a comprehensive manual, a noon lunch and refreshments. Qualified participants will receive eight continuing-education credits.
