Flu shots are available again, by appointment only
By Susan S. Lang
Gannett Health Services is again scheduling appointments for faculty, staff and students for flu vaccinations after temporarily halting appointments due to a shortage from vaccine suppliers. Now that the university has acquired 600 additional doses from a variety of sources, appointments can be scheduled until the supply runs out. Although the university is about 1,000 doses short of its usual 8,600 units, Health Services does not anticipate a problem on campus.
"I think we'll be able to meet most people's need this year just fine," said Nianne Vanfleet, associate director of Health Services. "However, anyone who wants a flu shot should get it within the next week or two."
There is no information about whether additional doses will become available. Call 255-5155 to schedule an appointment.
