Calling Cornell Class of 2006: Taking part in Senior Survey promises rewards

All Cornell seniors are being invited to participate in a senior survey to give Cornell administrators feedback about their college experience. All members of the Class of 2006 have been officially notified via an e-mail that links to the survey Web site. Responses are due by April 24.

The survey asks seniors to reflect on their undergraduate experience -- including their involvement in campus activities, interactions with faculty, gains in knowledge and abilities, financial impact of attending college and satisfaction with various aspects of college -- as well as their future plans for education and employment.

The feedback the seniors provide will be used to plan and improve programs and services for future Cornell undergraduates. All seniors who participate will be entered in a raffle for prizes, including a $1,000 gift certificate from Baker Travel and gift certificates from Amazon.com and The Cornell Store.

Cornell has collected similar information from graduating seniors in the past (from the Classes of 1994, 1998 and 2002). This year's Senior Survey could help show whether and how the undergraduate experience at Cornell has changed over time. Cornell is one of more than 30 highly selective institutions participating in the survey, which is being hosted on the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Web Survey Service Web site. The survey's results will allow a comparison of Cornell seniors' views with the perspectives of seniors at peer institutions.

At Cornell the survey is managed by the Office of Institutional Research and Planning. For more information, contact Marne Einarson or Marin Clarkberg at irpsurvey@cornell.edu.
