DiSalvo named fellow of Materials Research Society

DiSalvo

Frank J. DiSalvo, the J.A. Newman Professor of Physical Science and director of Cornell's Center for a Sustainable Future, has been named a fellow of the Materials Research Society (MRS), a new title created this year by the society. The inaugural class of fellows will be recognized at the 2008 MRS Spring Meeting in San Francisco, March 24-28.

DiSalvo was recognized by the society for his extensive research on nitride chemistry, as well as research on novel electrocatalysts for fuel cell applications.

The title of MRS fellow honors members who are "notable for their distinguished research accomplishments and their outstanding contributions to the advancement of materials research worldwide," according to the society. DiSalvo is one of 34 fellows from various institutions and universities.
