Investor Protection News Feed now available from <br />Cornell Law School

Investors and other members of the public now can receive alerts about common investment scams and frauds. Cornell Law School's Securities Law Clinic has created the first Investor Protection News Feed that focuses on investor protection news in nontechnical language.

"Other sources of securities law news either are focused on attorneys or are nothing more than advertising for law firms. The news feed is focused on the public interest," explained William A. Jacobson, associate clinical professor at Cornell Law School and director of the Securities Law Clinic.

"We try to include substantial content without overwhelming the reader. Many news feeds sweep in entries without screening. We update items two to three times per week and limit the number of entries to the most important news," Jacobson said. "The combination of multiple sources and our screening makes our news feed unique."

The Securities Law Clinic also provides legal services to investors in the Southern Tier region who have suffered losses due to fraud or other improper conduct. The clinic does not charge legal fees and is staffed by Cornell law students under faculty supervision.

The Investor Protection News Feed is available at the Securities Law Clinic's Web site at http://securities.lawschool.cornell.edu or at http://feeds.feedburner.com/CornellLawSchoolSecuritiesLawClinicInvestorProtectionNews. To contact the clinic, call 607-254-8270 or e-mail securitieslawclinic@cornell.edu.
