Better business

Former U.S. Vice President Al Gore will participate in a Cornell roundtable discussion in New York City June 3 at 8 p.m. that will be broadcast live to Room B09 Sage Hall. Gore is one of more than 100 participants in the inaugural Cornell Global Forum on Sustainable Enterprise, June 1-3, which will examine innovative business solutions for the global recession. Abrahamic Dialogue

The classes of 1979 and 1989 will present "World Affairs Forum: an Abrahamic Dialogue," June 5 at 10 a.m. in Call Auditorium, Kennedy Hall. The event is a discourse on faith, shared heritage and common values, with Akbar Ahmed, chair of Islamic Studies, American University; Bishop John Chane, Episcopal Diocese of Washington; and Bruce Lustig, senior rabbi of the Washington Hebrew Congregation; and moderated by Near Eastern Studies Professor Ross Brann. Original sustainers

The 2009 Cornell Native American Alumni Association Reunion Iroquois Social will be held June 6 at 2:30 p.m. on Bailey Plaza to celebrate the role of indigenous peoples in sustainability. Singer Bill Crouse (Seneca Wolf Clan) will present a traditional opening followed by remarks by President David Skorton. The program will include traditional music, dances, giveaways, drinks and information on sustainability efforts under way at Cornell. Free and open to the public. Teacher workshops

Science teacher workshops will be held for middle school teachers July 6-9 and for high school biology teachers, July 12-24 on campus. Living sculpture

A one-day, hands-on conference on creating art with plants will be held July 22 at Cornell and at the Cayuga Nature Center. Join Cornell Garden-Based Learning for a hands-on day of workshops that address topics such as living sculpture on a shoestring, veggie art, woven branch art, tabletop herbal topiary, and tree and sod sculptures. Cornellians' collections

"Paper Treasures: Gifts From Alumni" is on exhibition at the Herbert F. Johnson Museum of Art through July 5. Alumni collectors' gifts include pictures by Picasso and Hopper, as well as contemporary work by Cao Fei and photographs by Aaron Siskind.

Songs of Cornell

Cornell University Chorus and Glee Club, along with alumni from both groups, will perform the Reunion 2009 concert June 5 at 9:15 p.m. in Bailey Hall. Conducted by Scott Tucker.
