Two weeks and counting for open enrollment

The countdown continues: Two weeks are left in the open enrollment period for endowed faculty and staff; it ends the Monday after Thanksgiving break, Nov. 30.

What to Do Next:

1) Review the different rates and coverages for the health plans to decide whether to stay with your current plan or to change. These can be found at http://www.ohr.cornell.edu/benefits/openEnrollment.html.

2) If you are considering the Cornell Program for Healthy Living, you need to choose a primary care physician from the list of those participating, and enter the PCP provider number on the CPHL enrollment form or online. The listing of participating providers is at http://www.ohr.cornell.edu/benefits/programs/CPHLDir.pdf. You do NOT need to contact this doctor in advance; all physicians on this listing have agreed to accept new patients enrolled in the CPHL.

3) If you are considering switching from Aetna PPO or 80/20 to HealthNow or vice versa, consult their respective network directories for participating physicians (see http://www.ohr.cornell.edu/benefits/openEnrollEndHealth.html for links). If you are changing primary care physicians in these plans, you will need to check with the physician's office to make sure they are accepting new patients.

4) Enroll in the endowed dental plan (either Plan A or Plan B), if you choose. See http://www.ohr.cornell.edu/benefits/openEnrollment.html.

5) Enroll in Select Benefits Medical Care Reimbursement or Dependent Care Reimbursement accounts, if you choose (Note: Child care grant recipients must enroll in a dependent care reimbursement account). See http://www.ohr.cornell.edu/benefits/openEnrollment.html.

6) Go to Employee Essentials at https://ee.ohr.cornell.edu/ to enroll online or change coverage, or fill out a paper form, found at http://www.ohr.cornell.edu/benefits/EndowedEnrollForms.html.
