An article, "Cooking Relationships," by Grace Kiyabu '10 has been chosen for publication in the fall 2009 issue of The Collegiate Scholar, an online publication produced by The National Society of Collegiate Scholars (NSCS).

NSCS is an honors organization for high-achieving first- and second-year college students at 240 universities across the United States.

Kiyabu, a native of Tokyo, Japan, is a senior economics major.

"Cooking Relationships" is an essay on how food and cooking reflect the kind of relationships the protagonist seeks in the story "Sexy," by Jhumpa Lahiri in the book "Interpreter of Maladies" (1999). The essay is published in the pop culture category of the online literary magazine.

The Collegiate Scholar recognizes members who combine their creative and academic pursuits. The online literary magazine comes out three times a year.
