Reinhart-King wins biomechanics young investigator award

Cynthia Reinhart-King, assistant professor of biomedical engineering, has been awarded a silver World Congress of Biomechanics Young Investigator Award for her work in cellular mechanics and her international peer-reviewed paper "Self-Assembly of Stable Cell-Cell Contacts Through Substrate Mechanics," co-authored by graduate student Joseph Califano.

The award, for which a gold, silver and bronze is conferred for six distinct conference themes, recognizes "excellent contributions whose primary authors are young investigators; based on originality, clarity, scientific merit and potential impact."

Reinhart-King will receive the award at the biomechanics congress, to be held in Singapore in August.
