Robinson to address Americans with Disabilities Act 20th anniversary conference

A celebration of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Aug. 12 kicks off at 9 a.m. at the ILR Conference Center with a presentation by John Robinson, author of "Get Off Your Knees: The John Robinson Story," which is also the title of a PBS documentary. Robinson, a motivational speaker and director of corporate support at WMHT-TV in Albany, N.Y., was born a congenital amputee. He will reflect on his experiences living with a disability and share his thoughts about the ADA.

The daylong conference, "Celebrate, Contemplate and Collaborate," is free and open to the public.

Panels on legal, practical and human issues related to the ADA and guided group discussions will follow Robinson's speech.

The conference is hosted by the Disability and Business Technical Assistance Center - Northeast ADA Center. See the full itinerary and register.
