Quartararo appointed interim director of budget office

Maureen Quartararo has been named interim director of the University Budget Office, Vice President for Planning and Budget Elmira Mangum recently announced.

The budget office, part of the Division of Planning and Budget, works with units across the university to develop, report and implement the Ithaca campus operating plan.

Quartararo is the division's director of administration, a post she has held for almost three years. She will continue in that role and serve as interim director until the search for a permanent director has concluded, Mangum said. "Maureen has been with Cornell for more than 30 years and is very knowledgeable of our needs in this area," she said. "Her willingness to step into this role at this critical time is a testament to her commitment to and support of the division's work. Since joining the division, Maureen has worked in a variety of areas and shown good judgment and a willingness to work hard to tackle a number of difficult assignments."

Adriane Callinan, the previous budget office director, now handles business affairs in the Laboratory of Ornithology.

Quartararo has held several posts at Cornell. Her most significant roles have been as administrator in the College of Human Ecology's Division of Nutritional Sciences, business manager in the College of Veterinary Medicine's Department of Clinical Sciences, and budget analyst in the College of Veterinary Medicine and in the College of Human Ecology.
