Panel to explore new visions for sustainable world; announcement to follow

The Cornell Center for a Sustainable Future (CCSF) will host a panel discussion on "Creating Sustainable Futures for All: Challenges and Opportunities for the World" Thursday, Oct. 28, from 4:30 to 6 p.m. in Statler Auditorium. The event will be streamed live on CornellCast, http://www.cornell.edu/video/.
Participants will share their vision of a sustainable world, explore necessary elements and existing opportunities, and consider how Cornell can play an active role in creating a sustainable future.
The event will conclude with a major announcement by President David Skorton related to Cornell's future role in sustainability efforts locally and around the world.
Panelists will be: Rich Delaney, senior vice president of international operations for PepsiCo; Fred Krupp, president of the Environmental Defense Fund; Armando J. Olivera '72, president and CEO of Florida Power and Light Co.; and Sheryl WuDunn '81, best-selling author, business executive and lecturer, and the first Asian-American reporter to win a Pulitzer Prize.
Frank DiSalvo, CCSF director and the John A. Newman Professor of Physical Science, will moderate the discussion.
