Entrepreneurship@Cornell Celebration slated for April 14-15

Peter Coors '69, chairman of Molson Coors Brewing Co., will be one of the featured speakers as more than 200 entrepreneurial alumni return to campus April 14-15 for the two-day "Celebration" conference sponsored by Entrepreneurship@Cornell.

The event will honor Harris Rosen '61 as Cornell Entrepreneur of the Year 2011 and feature Jon Daniels '99, general manager of the Texas Rangers; Michael Huyghue '84, commissioner of the United Football League; and Shelly Porges '74, MPS '77, senior adviser/Franklin Fellow in the Global Women's Business Initiative at the U.S. Department of State.

Rosen, president and chief operating officer of Rosen Hotels and Resorts Inc. in Orlando, Fla., owns multiple hotel properties, including the 728-room Quality Inn in Orlando and the Rosen Inn at Pointe Orlando with 1,020 rooms. He is known for creating a self-insured initiative that provides health care for his 4,500 employees and their dependents. Another initiative, the Tangelo Park Pilot Program, provides free preschool education for all 2-, 3- and 4-year-olds in a disadvantaged neighborhood in central Florida as well as mentoring programs and other initiatives designed to assist the students through high school and college.
