Treasure hunt of used goods runs through October
What do vinyl records, baby clothes, computers and a vintage mirror have in common? You can find them all locally on the Reuse Trail, a collaboration of 45 stores that sell used goods. This October, join Get Your GreenBack to discover the wealth of goodies at reuse stores across Tompkins County during the first annual Reuse Trail Treasure Hunt.
How to participate: Pick up a game card at any of the 14 participating stores on the Reuse Trail to play one of two games: “Dip Yer Toe,” which can be completed in a short time; or “Walk the Plank,” where you have to solve a puzzle with clues from all 14 stores. The completed cards are entered into a raffle to win between $40 and $200 in gift cards. Participation is free and no purchase is necessary; however, you can save 10 percent if you find a treasure you’d like to keep. Visit ReuseTrail.com for more information, including a list of participating stores and complete rules for participation.
The Treasure Hunt is co-sponsored by Cornell Thrift, the Sustainability Center, Local First Ithaca and the Downtown Ithaca Alliance, and is made possible in part by a grant from the Tompkins County Tourism program.
