By Kathy Hovis
The second episode of a new podcast hosted by Entrepreneurship at Cornell, Startup Cornell, features Brooke Wingo ’17, cofounder and president of Zone Swimwear, a company offering fully customizable suits for teams.
The podcast, which launched in June, features interviews with young Cornell entrepreneurs, who tell their stories of successes and failures and offer actionable advice for building and growing a business. It’s available on the Entrepreneurship at Cornell website, as well as Apple podcasts, Spotify and Soundcloud. It’s being created with help from Bert Odom-Reed of the Cornell Broadcast Studios.
In this episode, Wingo shares the story of starting her business, how she survived during the pandemic and the words of wisdom from her grandfather that she carries with her every day.
Past guests have included Nick Nickitas MBA ‘14, founder and CEO of Rosie. Future guests will include Jehron Petty ’20, founder and CEO of ColorStack, a nonprofit on a mission to increase the number of Black, Latinx, and Native American college students in computing through community building and career development and Jamie Kim ‘19, founder of Jamie’s Farm, a company offering granolas made with creative flavors and sustainably sourced ingredients.
