Here’s your treat for National Chocolate Covered Pretzel Day

The newest episode of a podcast hosted by Entrepreneurship at Cornell, Startup Cornell, features Lauren Brand ’12, co-founder of Fatty Sundays, a company that creates chocolate covered pretzels in an array of unique flavors that are customizable for any occasion.

Lauren Brand, left, and her sister Ali, took their mom's favorite chocolate-covered pretzel recipe and created a business.

Lauren and her sister Ali founded the business to share their mom’s famous rainbow sprinkle recipe with the world, as well as other gourmet pretzel varieties. During the podcast, she talks about how they choose flavors, what it’s like to work with your family and some exciting new changes that are coming for the brand.

And it’s just in time for National Chocolate Covered Pretzel Day Oct. 7. Think she had anything to do with that?

The Startup Cornell podcast, which launched in summer 2021, features interviews with Cornell entrepreneurs, who tell their stories of successes and failures and offer actionable advice for building and growing a business. It’s available on the Entrepreneurship at Cornell website, as well as Apple podcasts, Spotify and Soundcloud. It’s being created with help from Bert Odom-Reed of the Cornell Broadcast Studios and edited by Abigail Younger.
