Things to do: Student and ornithological art, nature crafts
By Holly Hartigan, Cornell Chronicle
The last day of classes nears, but there are still events across campus over the next week for crafters, filmgoers, art lovers and more.
Art + Tech
Works by graduate and undergraduate student artists will fill the historic A. D. White House. View pieces that push the boundaries of art and technology while walking through a self-guided tour, which is hosted by the Milstein Program in the College of Arts and Sciences.
- Friday, Dec. 6, 5-8 p.m. at the A. D. White House. The tour should take about 45 minutes.
Art and Ornithology
The Cornell Lab of Ornithology’s Visitor Center houses a world-class art collection with sculptures, murals and historic and contemporary art. Follow an activity guide to view the art and make your own bird-themed paper art to take home.
- Saturday, Dec. 7, 10 a.m. to noon, Cornell Lab of Ornithology
Crafting at the Botanic Gardens
The Botanic Gardens is offering workshops on wreathmaking and a family friendly event crafting gifts from nature.
- Gifts from Nature: Saturday, Dec. 7, 1-3 p.m. at the Brian C. Nevin Welcome Center
- Wreaths and Winter Greens: Sunday, Dec. 8, 10 a.m. to noon and 1-3 p.m. at the Brian C. Nevin Welcome Center
- Tickets and registration required at both events
