Cornell's Ithaca campus will end its fiscal year with a balanced consolidated operating budget, only four years after the university's structural deficit stood at $148 million.
Provost Kent Fuchs and VP Elmira Mangum are rolling out the framework of a new budget model to the campus. The model is more streamlined, consistent and transparent in allocation of resources.
President David Skorton and Provost Kent Fuchs will now decide whether to accept the revised calendar. If OK'd, the changes would likely be phased in over four years. (May 10, 2012)
