Cornell United Way co-chairs Pat Wynn and Rick Burgess look to generate campuswide enthusiasm and involvement among faculty, staff and students for this year's campaign, which will kick off countywide Sept. 18 and at Cornell Sept. 27.
The deadline for faculty and staff members eligible to participate in Cornell’s Flexible Spending Dependent Care Account to apply for tax-free child care grants is Sept. 28.
The fifth annual BEAR (Being Engaged and Responsible) Walk to promote community in Collegetown will be Aug. 28 at the Frank E. Gannett Plaza, in front of the Schwartz Center for the Performing Arts.
“We want you to feel you belong at Cornell,” said Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer Mary Opperman, opening the 20th annual Staff Development Day of workshops and displays that drew more than 500 staff in person and several hundred online.
The first fall issue will be August 24, resuming the biweekly enewsletter schedule as follows: Aug. 24, Sept. 7, Sept. 21, Oct. 5, Oct. 19, Nov. 2, Nov. 16, Nov. 30 and Dec. 14.
Staff Development Day, July 25, will celebrate 20 years of helping staff learn about the opportunities available to them to develop their personal and professional lives.
The university has provided central funding, effective July 1, to help significantly improve the work experience for faculty, staff and visiting or guest lecturers with disabilities.
